A wonderful nonprofit that supports people with epilepsy around the state!
Outstanding staff. Fantastic programs
My suggestion is go right to Savers or the Goodwill to drop off items right there and save yourself from an extreme headache! This has been one of the worst experiences dealing with a company in my life. It is lucky that the package only cost a couple hundred dollars and not a couple of thousand dollars.
When I called the Epilepsy Foundation to try and recover my package the person on the phone offered to talk to the driver. My package was very heavy and distinctive so I am not sure that I believe the driver when he said that he did not remember taking it. His statement was probably an attempt to avoid reprimand. I am not sure how a sealed package freshly delivered from FedX looked at all like it was something for him to take.
So many wasted hours on the phone with FedX, at Savers, and driving around, not to mention the money lost on gas and the never recovered portion of my package. Don't forget this hassle lasted over a week! So if you don't like to have things stolen and then be told it is not their problem when it was 100% their fault, go ahead and let them take a donation off of your step.
The second time I talked to the Epilepsy Foundation they were very dismissive of me and the plight they had inflicted on me. But I was told that they unloaded the truck with my package at a Savers 45 minutes from my house. So I drove to that Savers and talked to them hoping to immediately get my package back and end this very distressing incident. Unfortunately they have hundred of donations to sort through at Savers, so I had to wait about a week and drive out another 45 to finally get a portion of the contents of my package.
Don't allow this company to pick-up donations from your house under any circumstances. The driver will steal any packages you have delivered to your house. So if you order anything online or have anything else delivered to your front door step it will be taken. There is a reason that the DAV only takes donations from the end of your driveway.
FedX package tracking showed they had delivered my awaited package only 30 minutes before the Epilepsy Foundation came to my doorstep and picked up a donation I had for them.
Bless their hearts at Savers they were the only ones that seemed to remotely care about the theft of my package and it was not even their fault. Although for some reason they opened the package and took half of the items out of it and kept them. But at least I got half of my package back.
